Angel's Gate Lighthouse looking for historical info
The Los Angeles Harbor Light Station website has just begun research. Our goal is to complete a research paper on the history and facts concerning this lighthouse.
Los Angeles Harbor Light Station (also known as
"Angels Gate", LOSA Light, Los Angeles Light, Los
Angeles Harbor Lighthouse, L.A. Light and San Pedro
Breakwater Light) was constructed in 1913 at the end
of the San Pedro Breakwater. It was operated by the
United States Lighthouse Service until 1939 when the
United States Coast Guard took over management. It
was manned until 1972 and now operates automatically
using solar power.
