Names for October Minicomp Entries

While dealing
with the digital submissions for the LAUPS
international, I realized that it would be really
helpful if the digital submissions to the club
competitions also had set filenames. Sometimes images
get mixed up, sometimes I'm not sure if the entrant
is open or novice, and I'm usually a bit swamped at
the start of the meeting, anything to make that go
easier would be welcome. Also, we stand a better
chance of randomizing the display order if we do this
right.
Also, I'm very behind on putting the winning entries on the website, primarily because getting the shots all named and ordered is time consuming. I think I stalled back at the May portfolio competition, gotta find time to catch up...
Anyway, lets try a naming format for this month's competition.
Please name your entries like this:
0510_novice_your-title_your_name.jpeg
0510_open_your-title_your_name.jpeg
For example, mine might be: 0510_open_batray_RogerCarlson.jpeg
You might want to be a bit creative with the title, if you don't want your bat ray image to come up next to another in the slideshow, since the slideshow is alphabetic.
As a reminder, this month's topic is "wings to fly"- that's rays, birds underwater, winged fish, etc.
We are able to take video submissions on DVD, and the website can handle video. Contact me if you'd like your minicomp video on the site, or if you'd like your own gallery of stills or video.
To submit your entries, email them to comp_entry@laups.org or bring them to the meeting on USB stick, cd, or DVD. If you are emailing, please try to do it the night before so I get time to download the images successfully and send you a confirmation.
