November 19 Meeting: Brent Durand

Join us on Wednesday, November 19 at 7:30pm for a presentation by Blue Water Travel's Brent Durand. Brent will be discussing the Best of Southeast Asia tour, where he spent 8 weeks creating a video series from 14 dive resorts in Bali, Lembeh, Manado, Raja Ampat and Papua New Guinea. He'll be sharing underwater photos and video while discussing the dive resorts in each area.
NOVEMBER COMPETITIONS: This month we are running several competitions:
- 5-Minute Edited Video
- Minicomps: "Portraits" (stills), "In Flight" (video)
Please submit minicomp entries using the upload form by 11:59pm Tuesday, November 18. Video entries may be brought on thumb drive to the meeting, or you can arrange with the webmaster to send them via email, Dropbox, or other method. TRIP REPORTS We love having one or two people share their dive experiences at the beginning of meetings, so if you have a short trip report (about 5 minutes) you'd like to share, please e-mail the webmaster.
September 17 Meeting: Mary Lynn Price

Join us at the September monthly meeting of LAUPS for an evening of stereoscopic 3D underwater video with video producer and editor Mary Lynn Price. Mary Lynn will bring her 3D projector and special silver screen to share some of the 3D underwater videos she’s edited over the past year working with veteran cinematographer Bob Cranston.
Immerse yourself in 3D video of everything from dramatic squid runs to curious large black sea bass, playful California sea lions to Weddell seal pups and emperor penguins in Antarctica. Free polarized 3D glasses similar to the polarized glasses of RealD theaters will be given out. Learn how stereoscopic 3D works, and why it is especially good for underwater footage! SEPTEMBER MINICOMPS: This month’s topic is “Worms” (stills and video). Please submit your entries using the upload form by 11:59pm Tuesday September 16.
